Australia Post are resuming services throughout Queensland and Northern New South Wales following the recent disruption. We'll continue to update this page with information from our carriers and logistics partners as it becomes available.
There may be some residual delays as deliveries delayed during the distruption are sent out.
Our first concern is for our customers and staff in the areas affected by Cyclone Alfred. We will work with our carriers to ensure all deliveries are made once it's safe to do so.
Below is the current advice from Australia Post As of Friday 14 March:
"We have resumed operations in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales and are focused on delivering parcels to and from the impacted regions as efficiently as possible.
Our Post Offices in the area have reopened. For the most current information on Post Office closures, please refer to the Post Office locator tool."
As of 10am on Tuesday 11 March Australia Post has declared a Force Majeure affecting deliveries in the areas affected by extreme weather in South East Queensland and Northern NSW. This temporarily suspends the delivery timeframes and will result in delays across the Australia Post network as many packages remain in the system for longer than intended.
See below communication directly from Australia Post 11 March:
"The extreme weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Alfred are impacting our mail and parcel networks and resulting in delivery delays in and out of northern NSW, down to Coffs Harbour, and all of Queensland.
As a result, we are obliged to declare an emergency Force Majeure Event for the impacted regions until our usual delivery lanes and facilities become available"
